Week 16 is another great week in MKE. That is no surprise because all of the lessons are great. This week is about cause and effect, wealth and thought control which I think is pretty much part of every chapter. It is stated that wealth is a product of labor. Wealth should never be desired as an end, but as a means of accomplishing an end. I read this to mean that what is important is not that wealth and riches are acquired but what you do with that wealth that is important. Do you want to change the world? Improve the lives of people less fortunate? Help foster children have better lives and a better chance of succeeding in life? These are the types of things that will make you feel better and enjoy the riches you have more than just buying things for yourself. I’m not saying don’t buy yourself lots and lots of nice stuff because that will give you pleasure. It just will not fulfill you like improving the lives of others. Not only will you derive more pleasure but the more you give the more you get.
So if you want wealth set your intention with a higher purpose than just getting stuff for you. When you concentrate on wealth also think of all of the good you want to do and the feelings that will bring you. This will bring strength, vigor and determination to your thoughts. Your thoughts then will be constructive and harmonious with the Natural laws.
It was stated in the lesson “Premature wealth is but a forerunner of humiliation and disaster, because we cannot permanently retain anything which we do not merit or which we have not earned.” I think this is the reason so many large lottery winners end up broke after a couple of years. They did not earn the wealth they may be able to merit it if they were able to make the jump from I am going to buy everything I ever wanted to what good can I use this money for. I don’t know if that is possible or how it works but I think that is a possibility.
There is a lot more in the lesson than what I wrote here. I may even have what I wrote here wrong. So if I do have this all wrong feel free to let me know. That is always a good way to learn too.
